Getting it done from Tucson
Tucson is served by a handful of state MVD offices and a small number of authorized third parties, and the difference between them is mostly time. We have been running the Thornydale counter since 2014, and a visit here averages about twenty minutes. That figure is Google’s, not ours. It comes from the visit-duration data on our Business Profile.
Most of what a Tucson driver needs is a title transfer, a registration renewal or a license renewal, and all three are walk-in. The exceptions are worth knowing: road tests are by appointment, and Level 2 and Level 3 inspections are state-only, done only by appointment at ADOT inspection locations, so if that is what you need we will tell you where to go rather than take the trip out of you.
If you have just moved to Arizona, the two things that send people home empty-handed are an out-of-state license expired by more than a year, and a name on a birth certificate that does not match the name you use now. Call before you drive out and we will read you the list for your situation.
What Tucson drivers come in for most
Title transfers on private-party sales, registration renewals, and out-of-state license transfers from people who have just moved. Salvage and bonded titles come up more here than most third parties see, and we handle the whole process including the Level One inspection.
Not sure whether you need us or a state office? The MVD versus third party comparison lists what we can and cannot do, in both directions.
